Aunt Katie legally became an adult on May 16th

we joined in the fun and ate some GREEN cake

Mom died the icing green because it's Katie's favorit color; Lewis "RARR"d at us from up high; Eryn enthusiastically helped Aunt Kate open her presents; oh yea - what does Katie get from Mom & Dad as a birthday present? - a flat screen HDTV!; and Lewis shows Bella some bear-huggin' love with Grandpa

Derick made it to 23 - so on his birthday we celebrated by going to the Round Table pizza place in Kennewick. We ate pizza, played games, and Lewis took a girl for a plane ride..... HA!

Saturday we opened presents and ate cupcakes! Derick let Eryn and Lewis each blow a candle our on their cupcakes - Lewis mostly spat on his >.....

I got Derick a neon Harley-Davidson sign for his "future shop" - he really really liked it. :)

Then came time for the family birthday party on Sunday (how many parties are you supposed to get each birthday?)

Kooky Kids! Fun sure comes easy when you're young. And looks pretty darn cute, too.

I think he had a pretty good birthday weekend.

Happy Birthday, hunny! We love you!

To round up Spring, I scored some helmets at a yardsale the last weekend of May so the kids could ride safe on Big Red with Daddy.

~ APRIL ~

Eryn & Lewis went to their last day of daycare at the Wahluke Children's Learning Center on Friday, April 1 ...  Lewis managed to run straight into the corner on a painting easle with his forhead the day before - it was the first time he hadn't bumped the right side of his forhead when falling

Eryn's 4th Birthday

Eryn turned FOUR on February 15th

we got to take cup cakes to daycare

celebrate at home



Lewis was pretty disappointed he didn't have any presents....

but he got over it after Eryn opened some and he started playing with them



Eryn got lots of fantastic gifts that she loves!  Each time she opened a new gift she would get ecstatic and over-excited.

she did a GREAT job blowing out all the candles!



My favorite part of the day was when Eryn came upstairs in the morning and I said, "Happy Birthday, Eryn," in a quiet voice.  She gasped and whispered, "Is today is my birthday?" She was getting excited.  I picked her up and said, "Yes, today is your birthday, how old are you?"

Her answer was priceless, and I wish I had had a video camera at that moment...

She said, "I'm four!  I'm so old now.  Look at my face (as she grabs half of her face with one hand turning her face and leaning into me)  its getting so old!  Look at how old my face is, mommy."

All I could do was laugh.  What do you say to that?

We love you very much Eryn!

You make us laugh everyday!

Winter Wrap Up

Eryn participated in Junior Cheer Camp in January

it was so fun to watch the cute little kids in the front try and follow the routine

Aunt Katie's basketball team beat Royal TWICE during league play

and caught Eryn and Lewis holding hands on the way to Grandma and Grandpa's house

I turned a whole 23 years old on January 26 

  

 Eryn and Lewis were more excited than I was when it came to opening presents. It was GREAT to share in the fun with them. 

  

On January 28 - Eryn performed with her  dance class during half time of one of Aunt Katie's basketball games



2nd Anniversary

We made it to two years yesterday!  To celebrate we gave ourselves a night together without the kiddos.  We stayed at the Richland Columbia Point Courtyard by Marriott Saturday night.  It was delightful.  Dinner, a movie, staying up late, AND sleeping in. 

My Mom and Dad were kind enough to watch Eryn and Lewis for us - not that they minded.  Apparently Eryn spent most of the time at Grandma and Grandpa's house wearing a black dance leotard Grandma Liz found in a box in the garage.  What treasures one can find in boxes!

Wednesday, I got a dozen beautiful red roses from my hubby, not to mention a box of chocolates (that Derick will eat most of), the Bourne Trilogy on Blu Ray, and some new cds!  YAY!  I love you, Derick!  We ate a delicious meal with the kiddos, and watched some TV to round up our wonderful day.

Lewis had his 15 month check up today.  He's 33 inches tall!  He's such a big boy, and undeniably cute. 

Eryn is just a ham and a half.  She's such a poser for the camera, and very much her own individual.

Lewis got another haircut this summer.  He went from long locks and a baby face. . .

to a shaggy cutie pie . . .

to a buzzed little muscle man!

Millie & Dom's Wedding - September 26, 2009

So...

We went to Millie & Dom's wedding in Spokane on September 26 and it was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to. 

Eryn went swimming before the wedding and tried on Millie's shoes ...

Millie was gorgeous; great weather; happy kids; and surrounded by my entire family. 

Derick drove up for the wedding and then drove back that same day because he had to work the next morning.  Eryn was one of the flower girls (she wore the same dress that she wore in our wedding). 

She made friends with Ruby, the other flower girl . . .

And she loved the electric tea lights.

My Grandparents were the last of two couples standing in the "How long have you been together" dance.  The DJ called out numbers of years and if you hadn't been married that long you were booted from the dance floor.  Both sets of Millies grandparents were married for 52 and 53 years.
